Terms of service
The agreement between you and AssessFair when you use AssessFair. Last updated October 2026.
The service
AssessFair is provided as is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. Check your Cook County assessment against its neighbors, then appeal it yourself.
Your account
You need a valid email address. You're responsible for what happens under your account; don't share sign-in links. You must be old enough to form a contract where you live. You can export your data, change your email preferences or delete the account at any time from your account page.
Acceptable use
Don't break the law, abuse other people, attack the service, scrape it at volume, or use it to send spam. We may suspend accounts that do, after notice where practical.
Your content
What you create stays yours. You give us the permission needed to store and display it to run the service, and no more.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, AssessFair is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
AssessFair is a self-help information service. It is not a law firm, is not a public accountant or tax adviser, and does not give legal or tax advice. Nothing on this site creates an attorney-client relationship.
AssessFair does not file, sign, submit or argue any appeal for you and does not represent you before the Cook County Assessor, the Board of Review or the Property Tax Appeal Board. You file your own appeal, on your own behalf.
Verdicts, comparisons and estimates are statistical comparisons of public records. They are not appraisals and are not an opinion of value. We do not guarantee that any appeal will succeed or that any assessment will change. Public data can be incomplete, late or wrong; check every figure before you rely on it.
The packet is priced per home and delivered as a web page you can print. Because it is delivered immediately, payments are not refundable once the packet is opened, except where the law requires it or where we failed to deliver it. Write to us if something went wrong.
Changes, law, contact
We may update these terms; material changes are announced on this page or by email, and continued use means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. Questions: privacy@jershclerk.com.
